SURPLICE AND WEDGES

Yep, it’s another black on black look. I just can’t get enough!

But even with the all-black and the gunmetal accessories, I wanted to inject some sort of color into the outfit, so the attention went towards the shoes. Apparently hidden-wedged booties are all the rage this fall season! I actually found that out a few days after I had purchased these Madden Girl booties, so I guess that was a good move on my part. Initially, I had ordered these in both the taupe and the black color (there’s also a houndstooth design available), and I had the most difficult time deciding which to keep! They’re both gorgeous, especially with the (faux) leather and suede contrast detail. But ultimately, I figured that since all of my other ankle boots are black, it would be smarter to go with the taupe.

Other covetable wedge booties under $100:
Sole Society ‘Addison’
Sole Society ‘Keyla’
Calvin Klein ‘Cena’ (love the vibrant color!)
MANGO Suede Effect Ankle Boots
MANGO Leather & Suede Ankle Boots
DV by Dolce Vita ‘Paley’
Bandolino ‘Siaka’

Safe to say, I love surplice tops. You might recall past outfits on the blog with a summer-appropriate surplice cami. Well, I’d say this one here is the fall version (also love this printed one). Something about the draped front just casually adds a touch of elegance to the overall look. It’s still a little too warm to wear anything that covers the legs in their entirety, so I’m excited to pair this top in the upcoming weeks with jeans and stockings.
