If you weren’t aware, Zara – my favorite fast fashion retailer – is currently having its end-of-season sale, happening both in-stores and online. It’s been going on for the past month, so if you haven’t jumped on the sale yet, do it soon because items are selling out fast! The combination of pretty clothes at delightfully low prices make self-restraint such a difficult task indeed. I picked up this light jacket in addition to a new black skater skirt (my favorite old one is sadly nearing its retirement) and a small reptile-embossed clutch. And as if my closet could fit any more new clothes, I just ordered a longline vest, but I’m telling myself that it might not even look great on me and thus will have to be returned, but who knows what may ultimately happen…
On another note, I finally FINALLY watched The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies. If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I’m a huge Lord of the Rings fan, and so it killed me to go so long without watching the last Hobbit film. But, after the delay of a whole month, I finally got the time to do so, and to say I was exhilarated would be an understatement (but if you’re wondering if I’m the kind of fan that dresses up like the characters, I will squash that out with an emphatic NO). Although the movie was incredibly engaging and moving (remember, I’m biased), what really made an impact on me was the ending credits, because 1) the incredibly beautiful credit song is “The Last Goodbye” by Billy Boyd, who played Pippin in the Lord of the Rings films, and 2) I noticed that Andy Serkis, AKA Gollum, acted as Second Unit Director for the film. Yes, yes, yes, perhaps it doesn’t sound like a huge deal to you, but for me, the gushing fan, it was just wonderful seeing it all come full circle.
Alright, enough of my raving. Time to go figure out my schedule for this week so that I can squeeze in a Lord of the Rings marathon and plan my dream New Zealand vacation. Until next time!
