Newsflash: I got a haircut!

You won’t be seeing the chop on the blog for a few days since I have some pre-cut posts lined up for you, but you might catch it on Instagram! I actually only wanted a slight trim and decided to try out a new stylist, but she went a little scissor-happy and chopped off more than I was expecting. It’s definitely a noticeable difference (we’re talking 8″, give or take), but I like to believe that everything happens for a reason so I’m embracing the shorter length, especially since it’s been a relief not having to lug butt-length hair around in the recent humid summer heat, and my sister tells me that short(er) hair is very in at the moment.

The weather here has been all over the scale lately, with blazingly sunny days followed by humid grey rainy moments. One of my newest additions in my closet is this Pleione jacket (conveniently comes in 4 colors!) that I had picked up from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (a list of my favorite handbag and apparel pieces can be found here and here, respectively). Originally, I had purchased it in anticipation for the fall weather, but it came in handy during one of those rainy days we’ve been experiencing. Here’s a fun fact from the photo session: it was actually raining while we were shooting these images! But we managed to keep (semi)dry by staying under a solar-panel awning. Nevertheless, it was quite a fun experience ducking from the rain while trying to look normal for a shoot.

Thanks so much for reading!
