TIME TO SAY GOODBYE

moving

Time to say goodbye…

Well, not for long, hopefully! I’m doing a bit of re-branding and majorly shaking things up by moving over to www.josephineellen.com. It’s still a work in progress (but isn’t it always?); nevertheless, it would be ever so humbling if you will continue to support and follow me along there! Hopefully sometime in the near future I can merge these two sites together, but for now, find me at www.josephineellen.com.

Thank you all for your continued support and encouraging words. This journey’s not ending here; it’s merely taking a new path! See you on the other side 🙂

RUFFLES

asos ruffles

And the bright, cheery colors continue on with this ruffled dress today! It’s so odd… I usually shy away from bright colors and ruffles, especially now that it’s officially fall, but something about this shade of baby blue made it simply irresistible (full outfit details at the very end of this post)! And if I needed any validation, this dress garnered quite the attention when I posted it onto Instagram!

TGIF, so I’m keeping it sweet and short today because I’m in the middle of giving this blog a complete face-lift. It’s going to be a few weeks before you’ll see any major changes, but I have some ideas in mind that I’m playing with and I’m hoping, hoping, HOPING it will all pan out the way I’m envisioning it in my head. In the meantime, feel free to send over some positive vibes while I work some magic and learn some new WordPress skills! Happy Friday!

MUSTARD MORNING WITH ANGELA ROI

Angela Roi vegan leather handbag

Oh happy colors!

The weather has been on the glum side here in New York City, so I’m glad to be able to look back at sunnier days via these cheery images that I shot with Angela Roi Handbags – a two months ago in August. It was a gorgeous day, albeit quite humid, if I recall correctly, and so I kept cool in a flowy maxi dress (I had purposely bought it in a Petites size so that it would look more like a midi than a maxi) as I dashed through Manhattan, checking errands off of my to-do list. I love that the mustard color of the Morning Crossbody brought out an extra intensity from the blue of the dress, and looking back, I think of all the outfits I wore this past summer, this color combination has got to be my favorite. Bright and cheerful, the colors helped me stay positive as I battled the oppressive humidity and the hectic NYC crowds, and even those relentless animal rights activists haranguing the weak on Broadway couldn’t bring me down, because I could inform them that not only is this Angela Roi crossbody bag crafted from vegan leather but it also directly supports ASPCA! Take that.

Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead of you! As always, thanks so much for reading!

DARK CIRCLES & SLIP DRESSES

River Island Slip Dress

For the longest time, I was adamant on staying away from the lingerie/pajama-inspired trend. But when Fashion Week came along and I happened to see this River Island slip dress (similar here) in hunter green – my weakness! – I decided it was time to give it a chance. Even so, I still played it safe by layering my black Mural bomber jacket over it to downplay the lingerie look and the lace accents. Urban chic and not entirely too risque, it was perfect for stomping around SoHo streets and heading downtown to my favorite coffee-shop – Cafe Integral on Elizabeth St.

Just the other day, I chanced upon a quote on Tumblr: “Adult life is when your dark circles are bigger than your friends’ circle.” How true is that?! I’ve been juggling a full-time work schedule with nightly graduate courses at NYU and squeezing in some social life revelries on the weekends, not to mention doing my best to jump back onto this blogging train. Dark circles have overtaken my face, as you may notice from my sunglasses-free photos, but as draining as this new schedule is for me, I must also admit it’s incredibly fulfilling to be feeling so productive everyday (I know, I’m so corny). So before signing off, I’ll leave you with this: Do something everyday to remind the world why you’re here. Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers. Put your phone down and look around – connect face to face, and draw something that can’t be found. You were put on this earth not to be fleet but to create a difference, so find your muse, and stagnate not.

Thanks so much for reading! Hope you enjoy the photos… now, if only you could all join me for a cup of coffee on this Monday!
